Task Groupings

Modified on Fri, 14 Feb at 4:58 PM

This article outlines the Task Groupings functionality and how to use it.

The Task Groupings feature allows users to group tasks together and randomize task groupings or show/randomize a subset of tasks within a task grouping.

Task Groupings can only be used on studies without conditions enabled.

To enable task groupings, navigate to the Tasks page in your study. You will see the option to enable task groupings at the bottom of the page.

When you enable task groupings, you will be able to add tasks to specific groups and set up how you want those groups/tasks shown to participants.

Setting Up How Task Groupings Are Shown

At the top of the page, you can select how you want the groups shown to each participant: Participants See All Task Groupings vs Participants See A Subset of Task Groupings

1) Participants See All Task Groupings:

  • If participants are to see all task groupings, you can show them either In Sequential Orders Listed or In Fully Randomized Order
    • If you are showing participants task groupings in fully randomized order, then you can lock specific task groupings in place while randomizing the rest. This can be found at the top of each task grouping when they are being shown in fully randomized order.

2) Participants See a Subset of Task Groupings

  • If you are showing participants a subset of tasks groupings, then you can select how many task groupings are randomly picked to be shown to participants.

Setting up How Tasks Within a Grouping Are Shown

At the top of each task grouping, you can select how you want the tasks within that group shown to each participant: All Tasks in the Task Grouping vs A Subset of Tasks in the Task Grouping.

1) Participants See All Tasks in the Task Grouping:

  • If participants are to see all tasks in the task grouping, you can show them either In Sequential Order as Listed or In Fully Randomized Order
    • If you are showing participants the tasks in full randomized order, then you lock specific tasks in place while randomizing the rest.

2) Participants See a Subset of Tasks in the Task Grouping:

  • If you are showing participants a subset of tasks in the task grouping, then you can select how many tasks are randomly picked to be shown to participants.

Disabling Task Groupings will remove all of the task groupings that were created and show each created task in sequential order.
